Our beloved sangha member, John Loft, died peacefully on August 5, 2019. John was a valuable member of the Manjushree Hermitage, always generously sharing his vast knowledge and raising questions to gain deeper understanding. He applied the teachings to the activity of his daily life, modeling the value of living thoughtfully. He was devoted to the dharma and a disciplined practitioner. He took refuge with the Ven. Shangpa Rinpoche in 2017 and began his ngondro and lojong practice. These practices became John’s life support through his illness and beyond.
A celebration of John’s life will take place at Manjushree Hermitage on September 7, 2019 at 4:00.
We will share prayers and blessings, led by Rosemarie. Then, please join us for a potluck dinner following the service. Please bring something to share with the group.
After dinner, we will have dessert and stories around the campfire.
Please join us, all are welcome.
John embodied kindness, generosity, compassion and wisdom. His wish to give back to Manjushree, even in death, exemplifies these qualities. Thus, we have created his memorial.
